Would this be considered science fiction?

Would this be considered a science fiction? I have to write a science fiction about my pets. Is the science fiction? There are two dogs. One is Paco, the other is Gordita. Gordita loves Paco a lot and he loves her a lot and they are married. One day she accuses him of loving their owner, Sam, more than he loves her. She gets really mad and attacks Sam by biting into his neck. Sam dies, so Sam's mother kills Paco and Gordita.
Side note: they refer to their owners as their humans...as in, the humans are the pets, not the dogs.

I suggest you look up the definition of science fiction.

Purists would say 'No', but I would allow it. Science Fiction is a very varied field and allows for much more than simply 'is there any science in it'.

Science fiction generally covers Ideas that are not possible under our current understanding. Usually though they are a standard story with SciFi aspects added. Eg one of the most famous Sci Fi movies is actually a Shakespeare play. Add to that, the notion that there only about 8 plots anyway then it follows that SciFi is merely a garnish Genre. For the record I am a huge fan and I love the way it makes you think of the possibilities.

I think the idea is potentially SciFi, sort of Planet of the apes esque.

Something very much like this has been done before - as in Gulliver's Travels. The horses are the civilised creatures, humans are the enslaved worker creatures.

it's more like horror not science fiction, science fiction can have elements of horror but horror is not usually much more than fantasy

Best to forget it and start again I think. The only scientific bit is you taking an anthropomorphic view of dogs By regarding them as human. Otherwise its a story of jealousy and revenge.

Most science fiction stories are as as been mentioned above, standard plots but the twist is that they take place in a society or environment where the rules of society and /or environment are different to those to which we are accustomed.

i agree - its not really sci fi,in the sense that most people see it ...

its more a thriller

maybe a new term needs to be coined to cover stuff like this

its also not much of a plot ... 2 dogs, one kills the other, the end.
there would have to be a lot of good dialogue etc to make it worth reading
