i agree with ratter, having helped out in tattoo studio for years there doesnt seem to be a single reason..... ive seen people from all walks of life, all ages, some do it as its fashionable and their mates all have one, some do it to mark an occasion or something sentimental to them, some see it as art, some are clearly addicted, ive quite a few and never had a real reason for doing it apart from i saw something i liked and wanted it......
Generally people of my advanced age don't have tattoos - in my youth they were for sailors and hookers. But times have changed. If I were young now I'd probably be getting one.
As a 40+ man in the Armed forces, I must be a bit unusual as I've never seen the attraction or indeed had one. Some look very well done, whereas others look ridiculuous. Have a look at the One Direction bloke here near the bottom of the page:
I adore tasteful tattoos......would have one but I know with my luck it would go wrong or I would find the dyslexic tattooist.
As to having anything on my body forever....well...Johnny Depp perhaps.
Different strokes for different folks. Bar ears, I've never understood piercing various parts of the body.
And with some of them I'd be seriously concerned about the snag factor!
hi jno, happy new year, hope you had a lovely christmas x
lol gness, its true things can go wrong.... over the years ive had them, had them removed, had more, had them removed, had more.... never really had a problem until a few years ago when i had a reaction to a red ink..... im not supposed to have them now but even if i wanted to i wouldnt after that....
