Ratter - I don't believe for one minute that this congressman actually believes what he says. I think in order to be elected and re-elected most American politicians have to profess faith in god.
It then becomes basically a bragging match as to who believes the most. The more radical the better apparently. I will stand corrected but I'm sure that their are very few if any atheist American politicians.
He's just playing to the crowd.
