So Spain is to have three days of 'national mourning' following the train crash. What does this actually mean in practice? Do they stop showing comedy on TV, discourage parties, wear muted colours, that type of thing, or is it more of a personal attitude like our two minutes' silence?
Not judging, just interested.
Without being there its difficult to know for sure, I would asssume it means that state occasions and festivities are cancelled in lieuf of visiting injured etc, flags are at half mast and generally people are given time to reflect. I don't know whether this extends to media black outs of comedy shows and cancelled personal parties, but there may be a daily minutes silence or suchlike - perhaps like the daily Angelus that they have/used to have in Ireland.
