What are you looking to find? Do you have any more information as there was more than one Harold Woodcock killed in WW1.

I have a Death Plaque for him; I think there MAY be connection to Canada so he might not even be British. I didnt know that when I posted the question so apologies.

Here is some info. for you. I'm getting some more.

Re H woodcick , as the enquirer is using a computer, he can enter the CWGC Debt of Honour and in their Search page enter the name in full, which will bring up 16 names for WW1. Only 1 has Harold in clear, others have H with either other initials after or before, some have Harry and 5 have Henry or Herbert, therefore 11 need a 2nd level search, which I usually use the Medal Cards,(only works if soldier went overseas and got Medals), but the one named Harold was 306564 Private in the Duke of York's West Riding Regiment, died 4/11/1918,but not with grave, only on Panel 6 of the Vis-En-Artois memorial.According to the national Probate calendar for 1919, he resided at Firtths-buildings, Hartshead, Liversedge,Yorkshire,leaving £165. 4s. 9d. to Mary Elizabeth Woodcock, spinster.
He enlisted at Heckmondwike, Yorks. His medal card suggests he only enlisted and went overseas after Dec.1915. I cannot find his service record (destroyed in WW2)

The death plaque mentioned is probably the one known as the "death penny", gives name only no number or regiment etc. may not even be a soldier. The enquirer doesn't give source of his information re Canada.

Thanks Modeller, that's really great. Actually it makes much more sense as the gentleman who had the death plaque was himself a Yorkshireman, so possibly his Dad or Grandfather.
