I believe we want rather than need answers. I'm unsure why you bring evolution into your OP and evolution doesn't actually advance since that implies a goal, it merely discards unhelpful change and keeps helpful change. I think you need to back up the idea that a less knowledgeable ancient people would have the answer you seek in their myths & legends.

The world is in a mess, & It's man made, Terrorism can be stopped, it can be stopped from the beginning, if you hear indications & we all do, stop it.
We only call out to God for our own Needs? when we are ill etc.

These preacher types that come on to AB all have a very gloomy assessment of life, don't you think? They always forget the bright side of life - the advancements in healthcare, the improvement in infant mortality,peoples of the world just out there having a ball, having a great time. Why is that?

But the answer to lifes questions is not ever greater doses of religion, which, as Eddie points out, is more often than not implicated in the very real cases of human misery we see played out on our TV screens. Look at whats happening right now in CAR for instance- tribal/political conflict, ruthless murders, which is polarising around religion - christians vs muslims!

For organisations that profess to be all about love and peace, they sure seem to leave a large body count behind them...

If there is no God, then the future prospect for humanity is quite dismal. Based on the record of history, and those on here, it would be a continuing trouble-filled existence, or worse.
