Hey, I'm sending a parcel of British things (including some food) to a friend in New Hampshire. How easy is this to do? Can I just take the box to the post office or is there anything I need to do beforehand?

Try a company parcel2go.com for a quote, I've sent many parcels for a fraction of Parcelforce rates, although never overseas.

You'll need to complete a customs declaration about what is in the parcel, you can get that at the Post Office - but you need to check about the food contents on woofgang's link, you can't just post any food to the US.
