Whatever next, one day they may conclude they were wrong about the existence of God and all go home.
Well done? I trust you're having a laugh.
Quite why women have anything to do with the CofE is completely beyond me. Reluctantly they were allowed to become vicars a few years ago (and quite why the church was not hauled before the courts before then is a mystery). Then they say "Well, we'll let you do the basic level job, but don't you get any thoughts in your silly little heads about getting promoted". Could you imagine an office based business saying to women "Yes, you can clean the kharzis and make the tea but that's about it. All the important jobs are only open to the chaps."
Now they get dragged, kicking and screaming into the 19th century (with still some elements of dissent among their number) and allow women bishops. And the women are supposed to be grateful !!!
When I read about some of the errant nonsense that is spouted in the name of equality but then read that women cannot take a full and active part in the Established church I keel over with laughter. What it needs now is for all the women vicars to say "Thanks very much for your efforts, but after due consideration I don't really want to be part of an organisation which, until fairly recently, allowed women in only to make the tea and arrange the flowers and which makes such a song and dance about opening up its jobs to both genders."
You couldn't make it up.
