Why have TV adds promote kids being so destructive? We see them jumping on beds and sofas in a store for example.

Tonight I was horrified to see a child having a whole mini Yorkshire pudding on its fork!

What does this say about manners today.

What children see on TV, to them, is mostly the way they expect to do things.

Yes I'm old, and some would say crabby, but to me manners should never be allowed to lapse.

I agree with you entirely, cupotee.

saw an ad a few months ago (cannot remember what for) but the two women were singing with their mouths full of food

disgusting manners
Is that why I got thrown out of Bensons for Beds? I was only checking the springs.
whats wrong with having a whole mini yorkshire on a fork??
Maybe many folk don't confuse media images with reality. What you see in adverts isn't necessarily how people live their lives.
That advert where adults talk childish/gibberish in the cinema about sweets, is not giving a good example for children's behavior, its ridiculous.
We had an anniversary party at our local community centre there was a buffet. One Dad ( not my family) was throwing food to his child , sausage roll, crisps and similar then laughing as the kid trod them into the carpet. I just said to him 'someone has to clean that up, shall I get you the vacuum cleaner?' He just looked at me and said 'just a bit of fun mate'
He sounds a berk Eddie, anybody can tell you crisps are rubbish for throwing.

Bednobs, I am talking about a small child on this advert.

A child should be taught to cut its food into bite size pieces.

Excelsior-1. Thats another thing to put me off my food people speaking with a mouth full chewing in between the words.

A child should be taught to cut its food into bite size pieces.
who said so?
what is wrong with holding something and taking bites out of it?
would you cut up a cinnamon bun into bite sized pieces?
do you cut up mars bars?
or a burrito?
or pizza?
or bananas?
or do you just take a bite .... like everyone else?
Cutting your banana into bite sized pieces . . . Oh, the humanity!
Bananas and Mars Bars are the right shape to eat as they are, but I cut buns and pizza. I hate seeing people taking bites out of a great chunk of food.
Nonsense!! if our children are learning their manners from what they see on TV, then we are not doing our jobs as parents! As parents, it is our job to teach them such things. If adverts are corrupting our children then I wouldn't let them watchTVsoaps or the
I agree, Ratter, manners are learnt at home.
^^ news!
naomi - but you dont cut to bite size pieces do you?

you cut pizza into large slices and eat chunks out of each slice?
and a bun , maybe cut it in half then bite into it?
i am still really struggling to understand what the poblemis with taking a bit out of something!
i have a banana and a plum in front of me (and an easter egg) do i need to cut them up into bite sized pieces before i eat them? I'm not going to cut the easter egg up, don't even suggest it, I'm going to inhale that whole.

Children should learn from parents and people around them, what is acceptable and not acceptable behaviour, not adverts
