I hasten to add, I didnt notice the site address at the bottom of that pic and that is not where I got the pic, I have seen that site before along with many others, I do not subscribe to it or visit it. That does however not change my views or opinions of the content of that pic.
naomi; You obviously are speaking a different language;
"indoctrinate' ... imbue with a doctrine or opinion." Oxford Dictionary.
You, Ratter and others, may agree with the distorted view of religion as portrayed in that appalling poster and your belief that it gives you sufficient grounds for your atheism, but the view that all religion is entirely negated by it is no more than your opinion, to which you are entitled.
Khandro, indeed I am entitled to my opinion, but you need to investigate your definition of 'indoctrinate' a little further. I don't think you've quite got the gist of it.
Hmmm.. it's little wonder people say they refuse to enter any thread in which you participate, - when you can no longer reason you attempt to win by sheer b. attrition, so I'm giving you the last word.
Is "this week's TLS" the one I can see on-line, Khandro (just been reading a book review with the title "What makes Islam unique?"), or the one to be published later this week?
Yes Khandro, I am entitled to my opinion. I don't ever remember stating that I am against all religions, whilst I am against most religions, there are clearly religions out there that I don't have a problem with, there religions out there that I am totally unaware of. My problem is the religions that abuse, indoctrinate, harm and kill people.
Khandro, oh dear. Personal slights from you yet again - a sure sign of a failed argument. My reasoning is sound. Your convenient interpretation of the word ‘indoctrinate’ clearly wasn’t – but I think you knew that already. ;o)
Retro. yes I generalise on my Facebook page, the same as most people do on here, but my critisisms are aimed at the main religions, being Christianity and Islam as most most people know full well.
v_e Is that the next step up from an inflatable doll?
Can't you get current ed. (24th July) online? - no Islam in this one, only bit on religion, is about Shakespeare.
Got it on my tablet with a 14 day free trial. Now the procedures for cancelling these "free trials" are totally opaque, of course. Remember the appeals process in the opening chapter of Hitchhiker's Guide: "Alpha Centauri... down the stairs...end of corridor...door with the sign 'Beware of the leopard' - don't you guys take ANY interest in local affairs?"
Apologies for the continued digression, Ratter, I won't interrupt again.
Like the portraiture, Khandro, but favourite is Elba sunset (not that I know about these things). You have a dark side: Orpheus, Stunde Null.
