...since ten more numbers were added, greatly reducing the chances of winning a prize? And does anyone know how the change has affected the (greedy, in my opinion) organisers?

Anyway, I stopped doing it when it went to 59 numbers and the already long odds tripled. I originally got caught up in the excitement and was doing 2 lines twice a week by SO. Doubling the price a few years back nearly made me stop. The increase to 59 sealed it finally. I think they have been very foolish with these measure and could kill it off. I now put the money into premium bonds, no interest but I still have the cash and who know may win something. The lottery is in essence a voluntary tax on the poor.
Well I buy a ticket every week and do not fit into that demograph -its just a bit of fun and if I ever did win a huge amount I would buy an air ambulance.(as well as an Astin Martin and indoor swimming pool) I have, however, seen plenty of people in our local village co-op buying £5 scratch cards that should have been spending it on groceries for their kids.
