looking more and more of a possibility.
This is Trump, by the way.
Agreed, dd.
The man's a dribbling inadequate who happens to have some money.
Saying it and doing it ain't the same thing.

Thanks OG, I was wondering.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
It's only words.
.... and words are all I have
He's going to make America safe. Yeah...just make sure you don't drive with a broken tail light.
It's only words, and words are all I have
To take your heart away

You think that I don't even mean
A single word I say
Who was it said that?^^
BeeGees, Sandy.
Another saying that could be applied to him comes to mind:
You can fool all of the people some of the time
And some of the people all of the time...
I don't know what proportion of American voters change their vote from one major party to another at an election.

Trump is getting the support of most of the Republican party members but clearly a proportion that are unhappy with the choice. I assume that will be reflected in Republican supporters some of which might well abstain.

I don't read that Clinton, even though not universally popular, seems to generate the same level of disapproval within the Democratic members. So You think he will ? I think a lot depends on the floating voters to make up the difference.

I wonder how many are going to be persuaded by Trump's claims he has the "solutions" to problems that the public presently consider priority, but which seem to be questionable "solutions" wherever they are described.

Getting that sort of trust by simply saying things folk want to hear, and folk not prepared to dig deeper in to analyse, sounds a long shot to me. Preaching to the safe vote who will accept most anything, does not necessarily get mirrored in an increase in the floating vote going your way.
Very interesting. Before posting I added a few words at the start, and after submitting they are in the middle of a later paragraph !!! What is it with tech ?

If anyone stands as a candidate and says he will fix everything, a proportion of the electorate will believe him (or her) and vote accordingly.

I can say that the earth is flat, and a proportion of people will believe me.

But saying it does not make it a fact.
I thought trump was the idiot ( rich) but I now fear the American voters are as crazy as him ?
