I used to work on a part time basis for a taxi/hearse company and drove both the hearse and the cars containing family members and we always got a tip but it was always given to us by the undertaker,
Firstly I'm sorry for your loss. I really don't think it's something they would expect, I must admit it was not something I even though of, but no reason why not if you wish do do it.

If you feel you want to then give the money to the bloke with the hat and cane, he will share it out. Most of the staff are part time and as a supermarket says, every little bit helps.
Ive been to a fair few funerals but never heard of tipping!
I did however usually get a tip from the undertaker when I was a grave digger after presenting a nice grave for a burial. Apart from the one that was too small and the coffin wouldn't fit down the hole, not a good day.
