Star Trek

The NEC in Birmingham is, this weekend, hosting a convention celebrating 50 years of Star Trek. Is anyone going – or would you if you could – or do you think it’s all a bit daft?
Such fun! I’d love to go – but I can’t.

William Shatner was on Breakfast TV on Friday He's 85, but that is hard to believe: sharp, witty, twinkly-eyed and (probably not entirely naturally) young looking and had the perfect response to the studio presenter who tried stupidly to get him to do some "Beam me up Mr Scott/Warp Factor 4 Mr Sulu" lines "for us".
I'd say he'd be worth the admission fee (if there is one, probably not) alone
And would make up for the unease perhaps at bumping into a "trekkie" which might be rather alarming.

I'd love to boldly go, but can't:
