hes a muslim and he is giving me hope that the majority of muslim people do not actually hate us. my whole mindset is changing recently after watching some of his stuff ( https://youtu.be/A3uwEQgn8xo ) as many will know i had a deep hatred for mainly all muslims but i regret that and i now know its absolutely wrong to have hate built up like that toward another people.

i was also in a taxi last week and speaking to a very lovely guy from iran .

i just wish to god more muslims would make a stand against extremism .

I did notice that about you -- and nice therefore to see a post like this, DD.
Muslims DO protest against extremism but don't get much publicity.

As an aside, there was an EDL rally in Birmingham yesterday so the Birmingham Central Mosque held a Best of British Tea Party, open to all.

You can clearly see the 'Not in Our Name' banner against terrorism in the background

i do still support tommy robinson 100% but i also strongly disagree with some of the behaviour from only a few beer swilling scumbags in the ranks of the EDL .
It's not so long ago that the Irish were facing the same discrimination and hatred in mainland Britain, DD. I'm sure you remember.
There are plenty of Muslims that detest what is being done in the name of their religion.
They do protest against it and there have been several threads about it on here but they get shot down as 'not enough' or 'too little too late'.

You are right, Islay. The Muslims I know are more worried about terrorist attacks than I am.
They are just as likely to get caught up in an attack but dread the consequences more - the rise in prejudice and hatred towards them.
he is one voice, how many are dissenters. I wish him well for his outspokenness and that he doesn't succumb to a Jihadist with a grievance.

happened in Pakistan - 150 school kids dead. I did wonder about the logic of " I know! I will go to heaven by going in and machine gunning 150 school kids who are also muslim"

also in Egypt - I am not sure if Copts are allowed into the security forces ( kinda would make sense if they werent) in which case the security guards outside the coptic churches would be the " wrong" religion but hey that didnt seem to matter .....

I am glad you have changed your opinion DD
UK islam is too closed a community for change & will remain so until imams and their men release their 'communal isolation' grip. Their basic tenet is for 'power of the dik' which propels their men.

Good to hear from you, Birdie.

I'm a follower of Mr Nawaz too. See his debate with Douglas Murray and Ayaan Hirsi? And his brief fling with Tommy Robinson?
Quilliam Foundation? Who knows?

My disappointment with AB, Birdie, is that (joshing/rough and tumble/***-taking aside - we all indulge in that to some degree) is that on the (possibly) rare occasions when I've tried to engage honestly with posters who don't share my views I've yet to receive a civil or honest reply. That's despite the fact that there are some bright and educated people who could argue their case and refute mine.
