So many families shattered forever but dealt with bravely, sad indeed.

i remember reading of five brothers in US were killed, I think it was in WW2.

Just noticed that my Grandfather is buried but a few rows from Leonard Beechey. He died a few days before my Mother was born. So sad.

Many villages lost a huge number of their young men, if you were lucky enough not to then there was a hint of shame attached to all returning home safe.
