What's your view on the Practice of having Grid Girls at F1 and other motor sporting events ?

In this current era and all the issues to do with how women are portrayed in the media and the public - should this sort of thing cease or is it nothing to worry about ?

F1 bosses are to look into the practice to see if it's a practice , to be continued .

if they're just wearing sponsors' clothing, rather than bikinis and suchlike, I wouldn't have thought it was a major issue. Cheesecake is at the lower end of the exploitation scale.

I don't like it. Same as the two glamorous women who kiss cycling winners in the Tour de France. The glory is in the winning. Why do they have to have models parading on the side?
I'd feel the same way if male models were paraded around in women's races, btw.

Some want to spoil all the fun in life. They like the job, others like seeing them promoting. Harms no one.

We should ask the girls, it's a paying job that they seem to want to do.
I'm sure handsome young men would probably be happy doing it. If it's voluntary, I don't think it's exploitation.

The World Darts Championship starts tomorrow. Wont the players be led on to the stage by young ladies ? The Audience seem to love it !

cricket does have cheerleaders, if you watch T20 matches, if you call T20 cricket. Doing little dances at key moments and wobbling their pompoms.

Oh yes, of course, jno. I'd forgotten about them. Also, tennis has models wearing t shirts with a sponsor's name standing behind the players' chairs at the change of ends.

Can we just watch the sport, please?

Can you imagine racing in the mountains all day in the Giro d'Italia, winning the stage, and getting kissed on both cheeks simultaneously by two gorgeous local Italian signorinas.
Wow! the thought of it makes me want to take bike racing again - though, my age may be a little against it. :0)
