Thought the police might crack down on free speech. Must be too chilly for those nice lads from antifa.
“Damp squib.”

Don’t give up hope and don’t lose heart yet as Tommy ‘s small army outnumber the peaceful talkers by 10/1 so there maybe some action still when the hooligans go into “bovva boys” mode and surround some unassuming poor lone foreigner when it gets dark as a retaliation for the “McDonald’s offensive”

It wasn't really about what he had to say, more if he would be allowed to say it.

Regardless I know for sure I will become an avid watcher of 'speakers corner' vids. I listened to some very interesting views earlier.

Aah, disappointing as I was hoping to see someone in a rugby top carrying a crate of beer with a placard saying “it’s me from AB!” On the live stream.

Seriously though, why not go down there? A view on the screen from a warm cosy armchair doesn’t do the experience any justice, the bitter cold, loud debates, grunts and shoving, The is it going to kick off” adrenaline filled atmosphere and the smells from the illegal hotdog vendor are really an experience that warrants a person to experience it by actually being there.
If you can't get there then viewing the Speakers is possible from anywhere in the World.
It's symbolism, ain't it.
This was the speech Martin Sellner was going to give before he was detained and deported.
This is good ol 'normal' Brits showing their support for free speech.
Bit of an anathema to the authorities and some on here, I know.
“This is good ol 'normal' Brits showing their support for free speech.“

Not many “good normal brits” that I know travel with an army of thugs tbh.
Doubt you know any, j. ;-)

Found a link that got closer to the speech, spicerack is correct it was Martin Sellner's speech.
Tune in next week ... I'm sure I heard Robinson say he will be returning to deliver his own words.
“Doubt you know any, j. ;-)”

Well I see one everyday when I look in the mirror.

Remember true Brit doesn’t= anti foreigner :)
“I'm sure I heard Robinson say he will be returning to deliver his own words.”

Well next week looks like it’ll be fireworks as war of words escalate on Twitter and rival groups bring armies of their own.

Think I’ll avoid that general area next week unless one of my army buddies comes with a tank.
Is this where Boris learned to speak Rollocks?.
I think you are secretly infatuated by Boris, gulliver.
“Is this where Boris learned to speak Rollocks?.”

He works from the goverment where you are taught to be multi lingual with their first language is being “lies” second language is “misinformation” third language is “bullocks” and their fourth language is “English”
Having lived close by for quite a while, I have passed by hundreds of times and stopped to listen a bit on the odd occasion. I used to think it was a place that attracted a fair share of nutters who spouted nonsense on a variety of topics. It has changed a bit over the years though, and they no longer seem to cover a variety of topics.
My dad used to call it the “Sunday smack club” on account at the scuffles that used to happen there

Garaman you dont have to listen to anything an can take a small ladder, stand up and talk about anything you like.
I am aware of how it works, Jahulaye. When I first arrived in London at the beginning of the 80's I found it fascinating, but I soon realised that they were mostly nutters.
17.21 Garamen, as you say mostly nutters , do you think Boris practised there?
“I found it fascinating, but I soon realised that they were mostly nutters.”

My dad says regarding the internet but I suppose it’s also valid for speakers corner

“ it’s good to have all the nutcases there where they’re All in one place and and be monitored rather than out on the loose in public”
I agree completely. Every town should have a place where anyone can go and nobody listens so that they can say whatever they want and vent their frustrations. They feel better afterwards and that is the main thing. Cycling used to do it for me.
