Does anyone on here have a good word for them?
Knowing 3 people who have dealings with them, I certainly don't.

We have had issues with others here and there but no more so than with Gorjies, they are just people, some good, some bad and most in the middle.
There is also the danger that people unknowingly lump all travelling groups together. There is a massive difference between New age Travellers, Protesters, Irish Tinkers, Irish Travellers, English Pseudo Rom, English Roma and Eastern European Rom and Sinti, however since that's too much trouble for you to understand, just tar all of them with the same brush and be racially offensive. You wouldn't dream of speaking like this about any other racial group, and frankly this whole thread is a disgrace and has been reported as a deliberately agitational thread.

If you're in the Sociology department at Loughborough or Keele there's a doctoral thesis in knowing these categories and distinguishing among them, Kvalidir.
That apart, do you think the common perception of the most common group - that it's responsible for filth and petty crime - is a distortion or exaggeration on the one hand, or largely fair comment?
By the way, which is the specific agreeable sub-group which "winter[s] on our ground every year"?

Talbot, you may recall that on the thread about the burglary that presumably sparked this thread, I said I thought the burglars had it coming to them and that I would have done the same as the pensioner. I stand by that, but just because THIS burglar happened to be a Traveller doesn't mean anyone can sling about racial slurs as though it relates to anyone and everyone in any of the travelling groups. That is not only unfair, inaccurate and wrong, it's just *** stupid as well.
