Just watched the Law and (Dis)order debate on Tv.
So worrying.
Streets not safe. Nobody safe - anywhere.
What and who do you blame?
What would YOU recommend to the politicians to combat it?
More money?
Police numbers?
Stiffer sentences?
More, "support," for youth and community groups?
Hang 'em n flog 'em?
Stop time off prison terms and insist on serving the full tariffs ?
More stop and search?
Anything else?

Yep, all completely over hyped. Crime has increased, but most people are completely safe, most of the time.
It cannot be a coincidence that they removed 10,000 police officers from our streets, and then street crime increases. It isn’t exactly rocket science.
But MPs rarely venture into the real world, so are mostly not affected by crime. They are chauffeured everywhere or taxied on expenses so never see the mess they have made of the country.

Gromit, there seem to be many people who aren't chauffeured around (indeed, they spend most of their time at home on websites) and yet still insist that slashing police numbers can't possibly have anything to do with an increase in crimes.
I dare say a few of them will have appeared here by morning, to tell me so.

the lefties will no doubt blame police numbers but the real issue here is that society is breaking down after decades of liberal attitudes. Crime goes largely un punished and society is infested with "right on" BS and fear of thinking the "wrong" thing. IN the back drop are those that take advantage of this to get away with whatever they like often defended by left wing politicians. The real "police" are standards of decency and mutal respect for fellow citizens. These are being replaced by slavish adherence to false icons and social media. The me me me society pervades and people live more and more in their own selfish little world.
