Do you think we are a compassionate society, given the number and demand for food banks?
Kids go to bed hungry?
People on hard times have benefits stalled or stopped for superfluous reasons, sometimes resulting in eviction?
Army veterans, in spite of the British Legion and SAAFA, find themselves facing hardship and the governments promises to a military promise is just a sad memory?
We all had to bail out the bankers, and the CEO of Persimmons just got a £75,000,000 bonus.
The numerous questions should be obvious by now!

My six tax paying children contribute plenty in taxes.
Do you want a medal?
To have earned all that money you should be living the life of Riley. What went wrong something must have as you are constantly complaining how broke you are.
Question Author
Rock rose - Ha Ha! Really? Do I? Sorry.
Truth is I always just get by. That's all I need.
Never had or taken anything I never earned.
Question Author
Rock rose - YES YES YES I want a medal! Can you give me one?
Question Author
Rockrose - Regarding my six kids, don't know what was causing it, but it stopped when we bought a telly!

Lucky you!
I only had one kid before buying a telly :-(
Theland/Nailit, I’m getting sick of you two disparaging anyone who’s better off than you, or anyone who has the gall to answer your questions honestly – and I’m getting sick of your constant displays of faux piety. How do you know what sort of lives other people who don’t constantly publicly wallow in self-pity, or take sanctimonious delight in advertising their good deeds, have lived? Maybe they just don’t trumpet it, eh? You’ve had a bad time? Well, maybe they have too but the difference between you and them is that they don’t burden other people with undeserved guilt and they don’t believe that the world owes them a living. If they are in a happier financial situation than you, the likelihood is that instead of expecting other people to take responsibility for their bad decisions or misfortunes, they’ve taken responsibility for themselves by getting off their bums and doing something about the lot life dealt them. Still, never mind. You keep polishing one another’s haloes. Just be careful they don’t become so shiny they slip and cause you damage!
Is that meant more for me or theland ?
Nice one, Naomi.
I think it may have been for both ?
Question Author
Oh gosh! Get told!
I thought this was a discussion forum?
How can we discuss, without eliciting our own experiences and those we know?
Naomi, you speak about the politics of envy.
Envy of what?
Money? Not me! Can't care less.
Money does not bring happiness or peace.
Getting by is all I want and so far I get.
Enjoy your wealth Naomi, but please do not sink to OUR level, the great unwashed, and use personal insults.
It say more about you than us!
Try meditating on this.

naomi, what the hell are you on about? Seriously?
//Money does not bring happiness or peace. //

It certainly makes life less stressful.
//Theland/Nailit, I’m getting sick of you two disparaging anyone who’s better off than you//
Personally, Im getting sick of you too, with your inability to see what struggles some people have in life under this government. Nothing too do with people getting on in life (As they should) but many are struggling and you refuse to see it.
Question Author
Ebenezer Scrooge and the Selfish Giant spring to mind.
I really feel truly sorry for Naomi.
Upside down values.
Wonder what BBC Chidren In Need is all about?

"I'm alright Jack," syndrome.
Question Author
Oh no! My halo just slipped down to my neck!
Polish it somebody please?
Lift it back up, it looks like a cheap necklace!

How's yours Nailit?
Choking on it yet?
Question Author
Naomi - Please tell me how you are better off than me?
Money? Not necessarily. What I do with mine maybe considerably different from what you do with yours.
And who gets the greater return?
You from shopping?
Me from investing what I have in people?
Are you such a materialist that you have been wilfully blinded to reality?
Theland...you're being silly now.

We have numerous accounts and a private pension. We like to go on holiday and weekends away, eat nice food etc etc and still have enough to save for a rainy day. That's completely normal.
Touched a nerve there, Naomi. Lol.
