Homeless Illegal Immigrants

How many of you would, or have already, taken into your home, a homeless illegal immigrant?
I have not and do not feel ashamed, believing in the rule of law.
But, shame me!

Yes it's something all members of my family do ( take in homeless people especially during bad weather or when they are in very desperate need).

Do you ask for references?
Do you have more than a three up two down? Most people don't!
How does it work?
How many spare rooms? How much spare cash?

Often regulars, people we speak to in the street or meet at soup kitchens etc frequently, no 'references', yes I have a larger house than some and no need for spare cash, just some food and help.
My father started this and it's just gone from there. Very few problems ( that you wouldn't expect anyway) and only one person that we've felt the need to find alternative accommodation for.

Btw, I'm not criticising people who don't do this, just for those than want to and can it's practical help and ethnicity, religion, sex, age etc doesn't have a bearing on it.

Then I applaud you.
But remember the vast majority of people have ne room, and no funds for another mouth to feed.
Kids are expensive. How many do you have?
Do you leave them alone while you go to work?
You are are the exception, and quite amazing!

If they really are ''Illegal'' then sheltering them is a serious criminal offence. You are looking at a jail sentence if caught.

I d I've already said that for some, perhaps most, it's not something they feel they could do. I sadly have no children, or ever will have any, but my brothers do and when we were little we had people staying with us often. Yes I leave them alone when I go out, no they generally don't steal things, but I'm lucky in that when I'm not filming I work from home. I just get very frustrated that people allow someone's ethnicity etc to be barrier to helping them, THAT was the main point I was addressing.

I am often accused of racism and homophobia.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

Good, very glad to hear it Theland, but I ust admit that often your threads revolve around what a threat people of different cultures and ethnicities are almost by default, so people will get that impression.

The wrong impression.
My daughter in law , and mother of two of my eight grandchildren, (three in February,) is ethnic Sudanese. Black and beautiful.
My third eldest child, (33) is homosexual and lives with his long term partner whose father is black.
My wife and I love them all.
