A Men's Shed has recently opened locally. According to the local freebie newspaper, there has been an 89% decrease in depression after joining a UK Shed group, a 24-fold reduction in members having a feeling of loneliness, and a 75% reduction in members' anxiety levels (I've no idea how they calculate these stats).

According to their website (link below) they are (my italics) "... community spaces for men to connect, converse and create. The activities are often similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups of men to enjoy together. They help reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, they’re fun."

Are there any Abers who have personal experience of a Men's Shed which they would like to share ?

Sounds sexist to me.

Sounds kinda Gayish to me tbh
makes sense to corral all that testosterone into restricted areas, to stop it infecting the wider community.

That's why I'm after personal experiences - I'm very wary of them.
Just done a Shed recce - there's three near me - might gatecrash later.
i have not experienced one. Dont people go to sheds to get away from everyone? groups of men enjoyig THAT together seems a bit eird
Sounds awful!
None anywhere near me.
My shed is the local boozer.
I think I would prefer shacking up with a Sheila in a shed but otherwise I prefer mixed company.
Not in one but sounds like a great idea.

I'd love to hear how you get on if you do :-D
They'd probably want me to brew up ;-)

They do sound a good idea for those who wish some company.
Loneliness can be a killer.

YEP!!
Wheres Darby and Joan when you need them?
''Loneliness can be a killer''

As can sheds. My Gramps was the proud owner of a Man Shed, until he nodded off in it listening to the radio, dropped his cigarette and almost cooked himself alive in it.
When i first joined our local Men's Sheds group, it was fine but I soon began to realise that they actually didn't want a woman asking daft questions. I stopped going.
They did make tea for me though.
Whether a pub, or a club, or a shed, people go for company. Thought that was obvious.

I always thought the idea of a 'Man Shed' was for those who wanted some time to themselves.

Or AB even???
Sometimes wonder why some folk spend so much time on here (or FB etc) but its obvious!
We are all disconnected in some way.
