Choose A Seat
82 Answers
You walk into a park, or any public space for that matter, there are two benches, and you would like to sit for a time, the one bench as one person already sitting down. Do you choose the empty bench to sit on, or sit next to the person on the other. And the reason for your choice.

if you were from the mediterranea n area you would sit on a bench already occupied, they do chat to each other unlike the uk citizens,

/// aog, if she moved, why is that a problem for you? ///
No problem for me, but obviously a problem for the Muslim woman.
What is it with you lately are you aiming for a fight because your regular opponent, AH isn't around, or have you been enlisted into the anti-AOG brigade or perhaps been converted into a snowflake?

I have difficulty sitting with strangers especially people of colour.
No racist motives involved here. I was told 30 years ago I had hearing imperfections (various hobby and work reasons) and my hearing would never improve but only deteriorate. Even with two hearing aids I have great difficulty conversing with people without continually asking 'say again' which I find frustrating and embarrassing. I especially need people to face me when they talk and any back ground noise is problematical. I thought my hearing aids had been linked in to the loop system as I requested but apparently not so trying to talk to people like tellers or check-in staff creates problems. Any broad foreign accent or dialect is virtually impossible for me to grasp so rather than explaining all the time I'm deaf as a post or asking for a repetition I avoid having coversation with strangers unless essential. Shame really because I am not an aloof,anti-social sort of person and enjoy a good laugh.

/// I'd take pictures but of my offspring, not surrounded by others - makes sense to me. ///
Obviously your park's paddling pool isn't well attended by many children, since your offspring isn't surrounded by other children.
And even if one does point the lens of their cameras at a specific child, in a crowded pool how would any easily offended guardian know one has not also got their particular offspring in sight of the lens?

//I doubt you would have understood my late parents but they were white and Aberdonian.//
If that was a reply to me you are probably correct. Certain Scottish and Irish accents cause me problems in deciphering what is said especially if spoken quickly. Strange I had no problem understanding my Father and Mother in Law (Edinburgh and Portobello)
