Not going to lie, if you have a dog and you need social media to remind you how to look after it (hot cars, hot pavements, hot hot hot) you really shouldn't have a dog.

A philosophical equation. Some people who have dogs, shouldn’t have dogs, but do. Some dogs that exist because of intensive selective breeding shouldn’t exist but do. Some people that exist, shouldn’t.

Jordy - aren't we encouraged to get rescue dogs?
yes ummm better a rescue dog than paying some breeder £1000 pound for a labrador, latest price was £980 for a chocolate labrador ,this is a disgrace and should not be encouraged
I had a rescue Springer.
Jerry?
its true ummm, since jordy died i find myself speaking to people who are walking their dogs ,what a lovely dog say i ,yes isnt he, he is a rescue dog,and i have also spoken to one in particular they are lovely dogs you have,so they should be they cost £1100 very nice says i thinking it takes all kinds.
Lol...Joey.
I got my dog for free. Poor thing didn't even have a lead. He was completed matted as well. Believe it or not the people I got him from had actually rescued him.

He turned out to be a lovely dog albeit understandably insecure.
There are probably far more people who should never have babies, but do.
Definitely a rescue for us next time. Zac is 16 in two days!
Just read that link Retro, one dog seriously ill at the vets, because of a lunch time walk in the heat. Another dog had to be rescued from a car, where he had been for two hours. The owners were not pleased to have a window smashed.

I agree some people should not have dogs.

I have smashed more than one car window when a dog has been in distress, I have always 'phoned the Police, said who I am, location of car etc, never had any comeback.
Its fine to give a dogs who are hot icecubes or frozen treats. Where people get confused is that icy cold stuff should not be given to or used on dogs who have sunstroke or who have collapsed in heat for any other reason. While I agree with Spath about idiots not having dogs, if the advice saves one dog that is owned by an idiot then surely its worth it? I think the seagull chihuahua comment is nasty and uncalled for.
I got a homeless rescue dog about 3 weeks ago... she is adorable. Spath, I don't think it is a bad thing for people to be reminded about heatstroke with dogs. I agree that experience is good, but people also do get dogs and need to learn. If that advice saves any dogs, it is worth it.
I saw that too, retro, have written it down so I don't forget :-) x

Had a look for the Sea gull comment, might have known it would be spath.
Tbf, I think a lot of us use words that may not be technically correct, but we understand what he means x
