Mrs NJ has been receiving some treatment for a fractured arm. A day or two after each consultation she had a text from the hospital:
1. Please rate (1-5, where five is most satisfactory and 1 is most unsatisfactory) your overall experience at xxx Hospital, part of the yyy NHS Hospital Trust.
2. Please say how likely you are to recommend the services of xxx hospital, part of the yyy Hospital Trust to a friend or family member (1-5, where five etc. etc.).
Imagine "Oh yes, Aunt Dolly, I can thoroughly recommend the services of xxx hospital next time you break your arm. Don't go to your local hospital, go to xxx which is two hundred miles away. Much better service there.
Are these people for real? Does the NHS really pay people to send out these texts (and presumably collate the drivel should anybody be foolish enough to reply)?
Back to normal reviews: I don't provide reviews for the manufacturer's or sellers own website or forum. They're unlikely to print some of the things I have had to say about some goods I have bought. Similarly I'm not sure that any "surveys" (particularly from large pub or restaurant chains) serve any purpose other than to keep somebody employed. But I do submit reviews to independent forums.
