One of the reasons PM Johnson didn't want to use the "one line" procedure for introducing an early election was that it could be amended so 16- & 17-year-olds could vote.
Disagree - there should be no upper age limit.
Meanwhile some political parties are trying to get children the vote. Seems wisdom gained from age and experience are seen as a bad think. Maybe it's simply easier for elites to manipulate the naive ?
I don't think I've EVER missed voting and look at the parliament we've ended up with. Maybe better if I did stay out of it!

Well who's to know who's had what experience so i'd say just because someone is old, doesn't necessarily mean they've experienced much.
When they have done something to earn the right to run the country they should follow correct procedure and put it through Parliament - all those older people who brought them up and worked 40 years or more have an opinion also.
"47 per cent of the 16-34 age bracket think pensioners shouldn’t get a say on issues like Brexit and Scottish independence - as it’s the younger generation that has to live longest with the consequences"

Shows the problem with giving the inexperienced the say. Suggesting throwing away the say of the most knowledgeable simply because they won't be around as long; because those that will be don't want help to avoid making epic failures of their own, and repeating mistakes of old.

How long one is around after a decision is no basis for deciding how to increase the chances of making the right decision. Let's hope the poll turns out to be unrepresentative.
the voting age should be raised to 21 in my opinion, snowflakes don't know their April from there Elbow.
"The Panelbase poll of 2,013 people in Scotland, England and Wales was commissioned pro-Scottish Independence website Wings Over Scotland, after studies showed older people swung the Brexit vote in favour of Leave - and pensioners sealed the 2014 Scottish referendum No victory"

No bias there then.....obviously...
It's all ***.

I'm in the 16-34 age bracket and I never voted or got ask'd how I feel on pensioners voting.
Do these young adults seriously believe that, for example, a ninety-something-year-old man who had fought for this country, perhaps on the Normandy beaches on D-Day, should not be allowed to vote in a General Election?
Most of the under thirties are quite thick, watch any quiz show.
Seriously, the poll was conducted by a biased organisation wanting an Independent Scotland. We don't know that the questions weren't loaded and it has not how many of the people questioned were Scottish Welsh or English.
But the icing on the cake is someone actually quoting anything in The Sun and believing it!!!
Most tribes pick the elders to rule them.
Disagree.
I certainly agree with some sort of filtering system for voters but I don't think that it should be based upon age (other than a minimum age of course).

As I've written many times before, nobody should be allowed to vote until they've passed A-level Economics:

No Economics qualification = No vote
A-level Economics = 1 vote
Economics degree = 3 votes

(Before anyone asks, I've not got an A-level in Economics but I'd be prepared to study for it to get a vote).
