A so-called authentic piece of the manger where Jesus was tucked up has been sent to Jerusalem, to the delight of some christians. How could a piece of some unknown kid's cot have been tucked away in the expectation that in 2000 years he might become famous? Is there no end to the gullibility of religious believers?

Atheist; This splinter may or may not be authentic, but it sure has got your imagination stirring, now isn't that exciting?
Singing songs, chopping trees to decorate, post cards, dress up in Arsenal colors as old bearded man to drop down chimney with pressies, big spendup! Kill animals to feast on & all for the 2019th birthday of a baby none have met.

All as daft as the claimed crib splinter ;)
Khandro, what are you reading? I don't see why you think this splinter of wood has Atheist's imagination stirring. I detect no excitement. As far as I can tell he thinks it's daft.
Once again, a few posts back, I am judged, yet again, by atheist experts on Christianity.
Oh how I wish I had similar expertise on my faith.
There are enough genuine relics of some saints to make a dozen skeletons! Every cathedral worth its salt had to have relics to pull in the punters!
atheists used to giggle over the fact that there were enough relics of the True Cross to make three crosses.

Until someone actually checked this out, and there weren't - not nearly enough to make a single cross.

Atheists can believe what suits them too.
Wonder if any of them have any plastic relics?
/// Until someone actually checked this out, and there weren't - not nearly enough to make a single cross. ///

Except checking is impossible, how could they trace the many thousands which had been sold. Fact-checkers can believe what suits them too.
And the holy bus tickets used by the Disciples to travel around Jerusalem?
