With the exciting over, and Brexit imminent, what policies do you expect from Boris, after all the promises that have been made?
Are they empty words, or carefully thought out plans to fix this country?

Wait and see. As Cromwell said, "Put your trust in God, and keep your powder dry."
What promises are you talking about?
get Brexit done, that is foremost then see what needs fixing...NHS at the top of the tree as per usual.

Primarily the economic policies.
I don't doubt Boris will do his best to fulfil any promises he may have made, but 'fixing the country' means different things to different people. Your idea of 'fixing' isn't necessarily mine.
Question Author
Probably. So how would you describe yourself politically?
Sensible.
Question Author
Ha ha, a great answer :-)
We are so in debt I don't know what we can do?
// What promises are you talking about?//
well that little one for a start about £350m for the NHS

you know the one The Nige said afterwards - oh we shouldnt have said that

lying in a ditch dead - if we dont brexit by whenever ?
// but 'fixing the country' means different things to different people. Your idea of 'fixing' isn't necessarily mine.//

looks like the same for the word 'promise' hur hur

a deep thought - I acknowledge - clearly it has been much thought about - biut wait where have I heard it all before - but funnier?

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less."

looks like a normal daaaaaaaaaaay on AB !

Tony - More austerity won't help, in fact it will be counter productive.
We need to run a deficit on the economy and use the money for sensible investment rather than bank bailouts, or QE which only benefits the rich.
I don't think the NHS is at the top of the list. Sort the economy and keep it sorted and everything else becomes possible.

Good morning Peter.
Where can we find an economic miracle apart from the Rabbit Hole?
The Yellow Brick Road maybe? Please help.
Question Author
Very true Wolf.
The problem is what economic model the government will be advised to follow.
Our Chancellor, Sajid Javid, has a banking background, so we can expect another neoliberal approach to the economy, but that gave us austerity :-(
PP, I see you’ve honoured me yet again in selecting only my posts to comment on. Odd that. ;o)

That said, I do wish you’d keep up. It’s long been established that the slogan on the bus wasn’t a promise but a suggestion - not to mention that the authors of that slogan weren’t in a position to make such a promise so anyone who believes they were is really … well … just plain silly.

//looks like a normal daaaaaaaaaaay on AB !//

Indeed it does.
Question Author
Just like Cillit Bang, a suggestion, not a promise :-)
Economically I suspect he'll be pushing for as many good trade policies with the world's nations, in as short a time as possible. Aside from that, we'll have to see. He has 5 years to make a good impression if he wants further terms in power.
Theland, you're backing a lame horse - and that's putting it kindly.
They will not be Boris's Policies, They will be Dominics Policies . you lot have forgotten who the Puppet Master is already, shame on you.
