Some of the visitors to the Tower of London have decided that it isn’t child friendly because its history is just too gruesome. Others visiting Mount Snowdon have complained that it’s too steep, that it doesn’t offer wheelchair access, and one suggested that the paths be concreted to offer easier access. It’s a friggin’ mountain for goodness sake!

Should we whitewash history and concrete over mountains to suit the precious - or should we tell them to put a sock in it and get a life?

Auschwitz, on Tripadvisor... ‘I know that Poland can do better, having seen the excellent facilities at the salt mines’

i mean we didn't have accidents when
skiing, when we went on holiday with my school. or if we did it was soon mended, all you got was a wet bum
they should realise that you can't concrete over paths and byways, that just isn't feasible.
as to history, many kids and I include myself, love Horrible Histories they are gory, funny, and most important of all informative.
amazed what i have learned about Britain's history from watching it.
I thought most of them were tongue in cheek. Altho if they were serious there is no hope.

I agree about snowden. It's steep, cold And bloody hard work ;)
These responses are clearly ridiculous. I think though that people are confusing ironic TripAdvisor reviews for serious responses.

If they're serious, they're pathetic, but I really don't think any semi-intelligent person believes that.
Ah, it's all fake news then - such a relief !!!
Bmaid nice views when you at top though. Just don't do what we did and sample any spring water on the way up. About 1/2 a mile along after being "amazed" by the freshness came across carcass of a sheep in the stream, not nice.
whitewash, greenwash, blackwash, aristowash, time to stop and have genuine Historical revisionism.
//genuine Historical revisionism. //

History is essentially a record of events past. Updating those records would be fraud.
I remember reading a story about an American tourist walking round Windsor Castle and asking the guide why the queen had built her castle so near to that really noisy Heathrow airport.

That's so inappropriate Builder, but I gotta be honest, it made me do a chuckle snort.
mushroom25 -- "History is essentially a record of events past. Updating those records would be fraud."

I deliberately used the word 'genuine'.

Do you believe everything your told mushroom25 ?

Which Historical religious book do you believe ?
History is wrote by the survivors. It is not as factual as we may like to believe, it is warped by those writing it.
False news, click bait, tongue in cheek. Take your pick.
A couple of lazy, desperate excuses for journalism.
"History is wrote by the survivors."
Victors possibly more accurate, victors being the winners in any field, NOT just battle. Funny people think US Constitution, Declaration of Arbroath, etc were written by 'the People'. (As much chance as the Brexit Agreement being written by the people.)
snowden isnt history
and there is wheel chair access as six wild welsh dragged a grateful Queen Victoria up it in 1895 or some time

she pronounced the view - most pleasant

oh come on Nigh you know that people post and carp at the most amazing things because you post on AB !

OK ltd wheel chair access - there is a choo-choo up a lot of the way
Snowdon has a train going up it so there is no poor accessibility. You just have to be able to afford it!

Did you know, Legend has it that King Arthur is buried under Mt. Snowdon? Fun fact. If he is or not can't be proven or disproved.
// mushroom25 - "History is essentially a record of events past. Updating those records would be fraud."//

no no mushoi ! history is rewritten by every generation and is clearly a social construct

Times yesterday - widely praised today in the letters column
David aaronovitch - used the amsterdam versetz museum and the trial of Ivan Demdjandjuk as incontrovertible proof that the British would have collaborated ( plus add a little anne frank) in the evenet of a british defeat in 1940

excuse me what did I just write ?

yup and all the letters today swallowed it whole
( and none referred to Ld Chalfont's go at this after La Chagrin et La Pitie in 1968 ) - Ld C decided they would have well
He's also buried at Glastonbury Abbey.

Did you know, if a Fun fact can't be proven or disproved. - then according to AH Ayer in Logical Positivism 1939 then it aint a fact ?

and yes this can be proven ( what Freddie said that is!) by reading the book
which Ihave
