Have been talking to a lady on a dating site. Were getting on well. We were going to meet up in the next two weeks. Now she says I'm too much for her. How ladies change and we have not even met.

She's entitled to form a view from your online presence. Maybe you're a bit more forceful than her ideal man. It's not likely that you'd meet an ideal partner on a first online date. Best to keep on trying and hope for the best. A bit like angling; one day you might wind someone in and find them flapping helplessly on the bank, gasping for breath.

Well if she has come out of a suffocating relationship and you were too intense you may have caused her to back away.

You could try telling her that you're sorry if you appeared too intense and that you hope she meets someone lovely and finds happiness. Then step back and she may, just may, re-think the matter.

My guess is that it is nothing you've done. She likes the idea of a new relationship but really isn't ready yet
