The Sunny Uplands Of Brexit
76 Answers
Over the last year or so, as a remoaner I have been posting details of the impact of Brexit on the UK economy. This has included the loss of billions of pounds worth of exports (which is continuing on a daily basis), a shortage of HGV drivers (and other key workers), and many other negative effects of Brexit on the UK populous (unless you are the CEO of a mobile phone company). Others have posted news items in a similar vein – to avoid sounding like a broken record, I have not posted details of a number of negative Brexit news items (which are legion).
For some reason, Brexiteers on this site seem reluctant to post pro-Brexit news items - such as a fantastic trade deal with the USA, or some other similar such benefit of no longer being a member country of the EU. In order to redress the balance, I offer this thread in which Brexiteers can post details of news items detailing how our lives have been improved by Brexit.
I’ll kick the list off with blue passports (although mine is black), and a news story you might have missed – that the CE mark on pint glasses is to be replaced with the ‘Crown’ mark (confirming the volume of the glass to be a pint).
Over to you Brexiteers to add to the list.......

Of course we have that problem in the UK. Just because we are out of EUROPOL’s jurisdiction does not mean it is not happening here.

Pixie, there are highly skilled workers in the agricultural business who get paid a good wage. It's only the seasonal workers that get less wages, and most of them are/were very happy with what they got, or they would not come over in droves from the EU. If supermarkets and shoppers would pay up to three times what they are paying at the moment for home grown fruit and veg, then perhaps seasonal pay would go up and british workers would be prepared to take over these jobs. they won't though -you cannot have your cake and eat it.
// In the UK, the number of modern slavery cases rose by 35% from 2016-17, with agriculture and the food industry among the worst sectors. An estimated 10,000 to 13,000 people are being exploited in the food and farming industry. //

Having given Brexiteers 24 hours to post pro-Brexit stories on how our lives have been improved as a result of us being out of the EU – it would appear that blue passports and the Crown mark on pint glasses are indeed the highlights.
If this post was transported back in time to June 2016, it is doubtful that anyone other than New Judge and the CEO’s of mobile phone companies would vote leave.
Be assured, I will continue to post news items demonstrating what an absolute disaster Brexit is for the UK, which you can read while looking at you blue passport, supping beer from a glass having the Crown mark.
