I'm guessing you're American and in your (very) early teens.
This is a time of life where young folk break away from their parents' ideals and interests and start to explore their own interests and ideals. Many parents find this very difficult to swallow and take the whole "Help! I've got a teenager!" attitude and make you feel as if anything you are interested in (eg. Hiphop, Grunge, Metal, fashion) is at least irritating and at worst annoying. In my opinion though, that works both ways: I bet you're less than interested in any of their ***? Try and force an interest in their stuff, then maybe they'll try and grow with your interests.
Also, it's a time where ideals and rules get questioned and I think this is where you're getting unstuck. In the UK the system is a little less authoritarian, generally speaking and most parents are willing to discuss, but in the US, from my observation of going there, there is much more of a "My house my rules ....NO TALKING BACK!" rigid attitude.
From what you've said, they're just having the usual trouble dealing with the fact that their daughter is no longer a little bitty *** coo infant. Just go along with their rules, even if you think they are unfair, it won't be like this for long.
