Yes, oppressed people can be a bit of an obstacle to foreign conquerors who steal more and more of their land, obstruct their healthcare and education, demolish their houses, and kill their children. Does the suffering of Jews in the second World War justify behaviour of Jews now? I would hope that the suffering of Jews in the past would make many of them less inclined to impose similar suffering on other people now. Of course, there will always be those who thirst for revenge, but revenge just goes on and on, leads to more revenge - blood-feuds, hatred. I only hope that there is a small majority of humans who empathise more than they hate.
Jesus said it pretty succinctly - "Turn the other cheek". Sadly, that's never really caught on, despite (or because of) the teachings of the sharp-elbowed brigade who latched on to his advice for their own purposes.
