I Wonder If Anyone Else Has These Feelings?

I frequently think of Ghislaine Maxwell languishing in what seems to be an appalling place of incarceration and I find myself feeling for her predicament which appears to hold no hope for restitution. I do not use the terms 'feel sorry for her" but I do feel something akin to sympathy as it would appear that there is nothing she can ever do to redeem herself. Repentance will not carry any weight with those judging her. But, as a Christian, I know that whatever bad things we have thought or done in our lives, there is always the grace of forgiveness from a higher power and the opportunity to start over, even though there will not always be a way to undo what has happened in the past.

As someone sexually abused by a pillar of the Church of Scotland when I was a young child I'd be really peed off if this higher power forgave him.
As peed off as I am with anyone feeling anything but disgust for Maxwell.
Some days Christians really get on my wick.

I have every bit as much sympathy and fellow feeling for Maxwell as she showed for the poor, young, vulnerable young women whose rape she facilitated.

Besides, do you really think that someone like Maxwell is capable of redemption? Crimes must be punished.

Maxwell has shown herself to be uncaring for those affected by her crimes, why anybody would have sympathy towards her for being caught is beyond my comprehension.

No one is entitled to forgive - and that includes a perceived 'higher power' - except the victims. Most criminals are sorry after the event - sorry they were caught.
