Do I Need To Make Changes In My Life Or Does God Do It?
19 Answers
I seem to be waiting decades for God to change my situation around. I have been stuck for years and I pray with communion, fasting, claiming and standing on verses, but still nothing. When I hear preaching, they'll say, "Don't move an inch before asking God if it's the right thing to do", and when I do ask God for His 'go ahead' or 'green light', I hear nothing and then another 10 years go by! I'd love to move away, for example, and have been praying and standing on bible verse for this, but 20 years later, I'm still stuck. Also, I have no support if I did move (as I have no family, only my mum whom I live with), so I'm alone. Any ideas, please? I'm actually starting the ball rolling with counselling and about to make a first appointment. Have I got God all wrong? Thanking you in advance.

If you believe in God then, for you, there is a God. If you're able to make changes do so. God would be be happy to see you trying to make positive changes.

You've knocked on a door for 20 years with no answer, it's now safe to assume that there's nobody home.
The great news is that you've obviously realised this and are beginning to take steps by yourself. Time to use Sunday mornings for something that furthers your life goals with a new set of people. Maybe a walking group or a book club. You don't have to make massive changes at once, if you want to move then don't move too far away etc.
