Does anyone else get fed up with the constant in-depth discussions on news items on television? I set the BBC 10pm news to record every night so I can catch up with the latest before going to bed but invariably I end up zooming it through. Last night of the 30 minute programme, 24 minutes was dedicated to the weather. I can understand it when they wheel out someone like Frank Gardner, the BBC's Security Correspondent, because he really is a specialist in his field, but generally I just want the news - not to be drip-fed with the editor's take on it or Laura Kuenssberg's opinions. I'm more than capable of analysing it myself.

Gone off BBC news. I think the 7pm Channel 4 news is better.
I tend to go with the least achingly diverse lot.
