Harold Wilson said 'A week is a short time in politics', but with a new Prime Minister and a new monarch it's transpired that this past week has been a short time in the life of this nation.
I've no doubt that Charles will be a king dedicated to duty, but I have my doubts that he'll be a popular monarch. I think he's in for a rough ride and foresee big changes ahead. I feel quite sorry for him really. Any thoughts?

Although it's pretty much academic anyway. In practical terms the sovereign is more or less there as facade these days. If he behaves himself then chances are there won't be a push for disbanding the system and consigning 'being subjects' of someone to history.
