It's just flavour of the month because of the World cup, Different things will take centre stage as time moves on. But while you can be killed for loving someone of the same sex, or forced into psychiatric institutions where they claim to make you straight, and while you can still be abused on the street, or assaulted for your choices it does seem that there is still work to be done.

Supporting other causes, developing world poverty, child abuse, the environment, etc etc isn't just confined to straight people, you will find members of the LBQT+ communities actively involved in many areas. Please remember they are people first... Sexuality is only part of an individual's identity.
