If there really is smart life on another world, why don't they make an effort to contact us?

/// If there really is smart life on another world, why don't they make an effort to contact us? /// There is, and it's too smart to contact us.

AH, the aliens in War of the Worlds are described as resembling an octopus, not humans.
I was just going to say the same thing Naomi. Close Encounters would've been a better example Andy, Wells' aliens were truly inhuman looking.
much more likely that life being found on AB !
hur hur hur

why nichty contact?
the usual answer by the crayzies is: how do you know they havent
the aliens in War of the Worlds are described as resembling an octopus,

oh, aliens must be octopi then, thanks

AB on Boxing Day not less crazy than normal - have a good day everyone - and remember to use maisies when shaking the hand of an alien - or any other part of him

does anyone remember taking the head off a Dalek and seeing the green squirmy thing? uuughghh
Or that old classic, mozz - The Day the Earth Stood Still.
"Klaatu Barada Nikto" Naomi!

That's possibly (Alongside "The Day The Earth Caught Fire") is my favourite classic Sci Fi B-Movie.
I don’t think I’ve seen that one, mozz. I’ll check it out.
It's a British film, includes Leeo McKern in the cast. All to do with Atomic bomb testing affecting Earth's orbit. Very cold war-y. Great if you like the Quatermass type films.

That could be my afternoon viewing.
If you can find a copy!
Actually, I found it first try! If you have Amazon Prime, they have something called the BFIPlayer, which TDTECF is on, and there's a 7-day free trial.

That's my afternoon sorted!
I do have Prime but the rest is as clear as mud. I’ll switch the television on and have a meander later on. Thanks mozz.
Gromit, //I reckon it does (or has previously) existed on our neighbours in our solar system. Which is why we are sending probes and bring back soil samples from the planets we are currently able to reach.//

Don't fall for that one; those samples might assuage human curiosity a little, but the real reason is to try to find rare, extremely valuable, mineral substances - & to even dominate the Earth from outside of it, (the Chinese dream).
Sorry, BFIPlayer is a channel you have to buy through the Prime Video app. It's £4.99 a month, but there's a 7 day trial before you have to pay, so it's easily cancelable before then. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks mozz.
Khandro, please stop calling Dawkins a clown - something you’ve done before. He’s far from that. You need to do a bit of research. You’re well out of date.
We and this planet are not in the slightest bit special. We are an unimportant, insignificant rock in a vast universe. Those who think otherwise are deluded.
naomi (& Atheist) //Khandro, please stop calling Dawkins a clown...//

I'm sorry if belittling your patron-saint & fool of a guru disturbs you, it just happens to be an enjoyable pastime of mine. :0)
