This is why he became a comedian not an advisor. Referendums are the nearest we get to true democracy. If you are against them then you are against democracy.
Just to clarify; it isn't democracy to continually have referendums on the same thing until you get the result some individual or group wanted. If the people choose option A when authorities or poor losers wanted option B, then you don't ask again until sufficient time has passed to see how things settled down.
Regardless of whether I was a remainer or a leaver (I voted remain), I said at the time that a decision like this should be left up to the people we voted to represent us.
I’ve been continually told I was wrong, which is fair enough (opinions differ), but I retain my opinion.
It now appears that the Brexiteers stance on Brexit is that the decision has been made (in the referendum) and that decision is sacrosanct and cannot ever be changed.
Now that more than 60% of the population acknowledge what a disaster Brexit is for the UK, any sensible person would have that damage undone – but not the Brexiteers.
It looks like we are going to need that warning label on bottles of bleach for a while yet.
