Apparently the front page of Saturday’s Times newspaper had an article on how to live it up while you're broke – so to help ABers out, below are a few of the handy tips to save you money (from the Times article).

• Don’t shoe the back hooves of your horses
• Buy your champagne from Aldi
• Try this scam, take your dirty laundry to a hotel and demand that they clean it for you while you wait in the hotel bar for it to be done

With regards the last tip, besides being illegal I’m sure the hotel would ask for your name & room number, and after a few drinks at the bar it would have been cheaper to launder the clothes at home.

We only have the chandeliers cleaned once every 6 months instead of quarterly.
I've cut right down on private jet trips.
*Sigh* .... the things we've had to do to get us through:
We've had to sack one of our butlers and 2 of our cleaners.
The Rolls Royce had to go .... so now we've got a crappy Bentley instead.
8 holidays a year instead of the usual 10.
The villa in France had to go, but we're just about managing to hang on to the ones in Spain, Greece and Italy :)

.... the list is endless ....
With or without shoes the horses still need the farrier so that doesn't work.
Don't drink champagne as I don't like it
Grandkids swim in their underwear in the pool so just a quick rinse with the hose for shower and laundry takes care of that laundry and personal hygiene!
Save money on your fuel and shopping bills by eating out. This has the added benefit of extending the life of your cooker and dishwasher.
We've had to take a part time job at the local Vegan bar so can only devote six and a half days to sitting in front of traffic for JSO. Oh, and turn the engines off on our Range Rovers when they're parked.
We now have to pay considerably more for a cup of tea at various establishments. Come on, one tea bag? Hot water? No facilities, outside seating. It was £1.50. Now £2.00. Someplace’s £2.20 one place £2.45. Ridiculous.

Plus...

Staff costs (salary, pension contributions, NI contributions, sick pay, holiday pay...)

Energy costs (boiling the water, heating the place in winter, lighting, running ancillary equipment)

Rent

Business Rates

Advertising and marketing.

Provision and cleaning of cups, spoons etc. Provision and maintenance of tables and chairs.

(I could go on).

If you want a cup of tea for the cost of a tea bag the only place to get that is at home - and even then there's a lot more to it than the cost of the tea bag.
We buy our falafel at Sainsburys rather than at Waitrose.
Went out for lunch yesterday and a pint of alcohol free Heineken which my son had cost £9 yet a pint of normal lager was only £5. How do they justify it.
^They're in danger of pricing themselves out of business.
We have had to close down the left wing.

Terrible news.
Change pubs theshedman
Most draught beers are £2.26 in my pub. Lager under £3. :-)
Well I have saved money by switching to ocado, with all the offers I have paid less than the big four for at least two months now, I have just been told my electric DD is going down by over £40 per month, so the prosecco stays, as do fresh flowers every week although I arranging them myself. Looking for a cleaner now, if anyone in Birmingham had to let theirs go.
I use Ocado but only buy the half price offers, after comparing prices elsewhere.
Excellent service
I always thought they would be too expensive but every time I shop I get a £10 of your next shop voucher plus vouchers for free stuff, the plastic bag buy back at 10p credit per bag , and the Tesco price match, plus I got 3 months free delivery I am well impressed

retrocop, lucky to get a pint for any less than £5 a pint down in Devon where I am but £9 for alcohol free is taking the p.
Are any of those pubs close to you theshedman ? Or are you anti-spoons?
Shedman 10.26 All brewed in the same vat, then they have to pay to have the alcohol taken out for your sons pint.....LOL.
