Hymie posts almost everyday about Brexit and his desire to "correct" our "error" in leaving. This post is not about the rights and wrongs of brexit, that has been done to death. What I'd like to explore here is what conditions demanded by the EUSSR would you accept to rejoin? What would make even you as a remainer baulk at rejoining? Things they would likely demand for us to rejoin: 1) Join the EURO, 2) Vast increase in subs, 3) Join Schengen area, 4) EUSSR commission supreme over UK. 5) Give up our seat on the permanent security in the UN, 6) Not Veto on current key issues, 7) Common EUSSR forces. .....probably many others.

The club would feel that they can extract a lot out of you because of your weak position. I think items of the type on that list is the very minimum they would demand. Here in the US we observed with interest the UK's withdrawal from the EU and I think many thought it was an error but to bend the knee to rejoin would be an exponentially greater error.
Well TTT as a proud Brexiteer I probably shouldn't answer.
However, as I said on the eve of the vote if we loose I would be fine with it if we went for full integration.
This means one set of laws, one economy ,one currency, one set of taxation, one set of 'benefits', one education, one set of Forces etc.
And then everyone one who makes a decision on the way forward for the Union is voted in (or out if need be), but certainly not the corrupt cable and method used at present.
I truly believe that if the EU was the "USE" then it could be very powerful and we could all have a good life. But the way it is currently then that will never happen.

The problem is, and the reason we never fitted is that we obeyed the rules of the club. The continental way was always a variable approach, they ignored the rules they didn't like because that's what they do, that is their mind set. We could never fit in a club like that, it was always inevitable that we would leave.
Well karda, maybe if the US were finding their laws were being superceded by a group containing them and say, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, etc. who agreed someyhing different they may be less inclined to see a US equivalent of Brexit as an error. Especially if Suriname wanted a single military force controlled by the group where the more military a nation had the more they would be expected to pass over.
YMB, TORATORATORA has listed various requirements the EU, "would likely demand for us to rejoin" and I am asking what makes him think they are, "likely".
Has he heard or read suggestions that any or all of them would have to be accepted by the UK as a condition of re-joining the EU?
If he has, I am asking what evidence he has.

TTT has a pretty good shot at the rejoining rules for the EU.
TCL asks for evidence. Actually all you need to do is check the EU website. Basic requirements start there https:/ /www.eu roparl. europa. eu/news /en/hea dlines/ eu-affa irs/202 11111ST O17182/ how-cou ntries- can-joi n-the-e u

MILVUS,I had a look at your link which includes, "As a condition of joining, a country must adopt all EU laws and agree to swap its currency for the euro in the future. Find out more in our video."
In the video it says countries need to accept the euro, "when ready".
Nothing about
"2) Vast increase in subs
...
3) Join Schengen area,
5) Give up our seat on the permanent security in the UN,
6) Not Veto on current key issues,
7) Common EUSSR forces"
Still nothing to suggest any one of the above would be a requirement for re-joining.

Milvus, thanks for your help, it seems the 5C want to concentrate on my "likely" lisr rather than answer the main thrust of this post. My suggestions, or any that would answer this:
//What I'd like to explore here is what conditions demanded by the EUSSR would you accept to rejoin? What would make even you as a remainer baulk at rejoining?// they prefer to obfuscate.
