It seems to me that AB has lots of OP's attacking Islam and Muslims in general, but not many OP's attacking Jews.

Anti-semitism seems to be considered shocking, but anti-Islam seems to be considered quite acceptable.

What do you think?

I much prefer the company of Cats and Dogs.

one of Louis XIV leddies, said - ze more I see of men, the better I like dogs

sorry some abers, but this is bigger then gaza and all the terror that in itself entails, this social cohesion mantra, has im afraid, shown there is none, just people getting fedup, who are the interlopers here, who let off bombs stabbed murdered, i think peeps are as i said fedup, muslims are victims, gaza is not the uk, i get the.. i feel for the innocent, who does not! who startted it..hamas who raped and murdered concert goers, oh sorry they did not have a hard life in gazam nothing to do woth them personally, but hey killem anyway.....

Lets discuss Manchester arena, London bus bombings. Unerground tube bomb, 9/11. London bridge knife maniac, Reading Park maniac/ knife murderer. No apologies by me. They were Muslim.

Please can ABers suggest any Jewish extremist bombers and murderers in the UK in the last 30 years or more. You can add Islam domestic honour killings if you like.

There was an episode of Star Trek where the Enterprise was circling a planet to observe the inhabitants to see if they were civilised enough to join the Federation.

The way the human species is going we will never be deemed to be civilised.

Pasta, I think many of us feel like you, which is why I tend now to come out more at night and enjoy puzzles.  There is now a lot of nastiness elsewhere which is overlooked.

Lottie...I'm not a puzzle or quiz fan...sometimes I wish I was. Nor do I care for the 'see how far this goes' type of threads. I have absolutely no memory for song lyrics or titles

I'd just like decent conversation...being alone is getting hard. I keep the mindless telly in just for voices. 🙄

Can name plenty of Christian ones though on the western world though.

I got the exact opposite impression atheist. I am honestly disturbed by the anti Jewish sentiment on here and the support for muslims.

The problem is Retro that moslems,  who are much the same as you or I and act like you and I and who have lived here and served  this country well,  apparently at some time will turn into extremists (according to some)

Pasta, I do look you up when I'm on here because your probably the one I miss chatting to most.  It would be nice if we could chat elsewhere.

Why don't the fanboys and girls of Islam sing its praise instead of having a go at others who haven't got anything good to say about it?

Go on, I'm all ears.

There has been no anti Jewish sentiment on here unless you think not supporting the Israeli government is anti Jewish.

I haven't seen any fans of  moslems either, or support of Hamas.

... and there are some shifty looking Christians too ..

Rational discussion isn't possible here.

The view that islam, and the religious political baggage and social violence that it brings is to be interpreted as a pro Jewish or Israel stance is just another excersise in looking through the telescope from the wrong end. It is a clumsy deflection tactic to camouflage anti semitism. As yet, like many others, I have no qualms regarding the Jewish people who live amongst us or visit  us. There appear to be no random explosions or knife attacks, no corrrosive spillages or runaway vehicles that mount the pavements into crowded areas, threats to visit violence on families of our elected politicians or their families and homes. No desecration of our own sacred institutions or institutes and certainly no organised rape and sexual abuse of our indigenous children. My objection to these acts is now described as against muslims and their ways of doing things. A part of that judgement is  is correct, but only by default. But it is not because I am pro Jewish. The British once eliminated a political system called mahdism. Many  will have no idea of its existace or reality. That is why we are in danger of letting parts of that vile existence into our once free Country where free thought was at one time encouraged and celebrated. There will be no such luxury when the terrorists take political power through the stalking horse called the labour party.  The would be religious dictators seem to value your freedom more than you do if you are able to excuse their henious deeds.

Any positivity at all re Islam then?

My viewpoint is this: I refuse to judge anybody by the worst of their people. I won't judge Mohammed down the newsagents by the crimes committed by Hamas in Israel. I will not judge Shmuel in the bank by the acts by some Israelis against innocent Gazans. Likewise, I won't judge Alexei for the crimes being committed by Putin in Ukraine.

For some here, that makes me part of the problem. That makes me a terrorist sympathiser. So be it, if you want to accuse me of something I'm not, then knock yourself out, your opinion means nothing to me. The "if you're not with us, you're against us" is a mindset I don't share.

I agree with Mozz.

Same. That's why I spent near on a thousand quid on tiles at Al-Murad this week.

But him being a nice jolly Muslim doesn't change my view on Islam.

It's insidious.
