Boris Johnson – A Hero To Me
Many on AB are fans of Boris and want to see him return to British politics.
He is a hero to me, having single-handedly destroyed the Tory party (and brought them to where they are now).
Beginning with his decision to back Brexit, sowing the seeds of their demise - under his leadership he mandated that all Tory MPs swore undying allegiance to all things Brexit, filling their parliamentary party with swivel–eyed-loons.
Despite Boris *** off and Brexit being a complete disaster (in no small part due to Boris), those Tory MPs are still spouting nonsense, proclaiming Brexit to be a fantastic success, still not permitted to speak the truth on Brexit.
While the destruction of the Tory party was assisted by other incompetents such as Truss, May and Sunak etc – Boris must take the lion’s share of the blame.
When the history of the Tory party is written, Jonson’s name will be writ large in its demise.
Well done Boris, what do you think?

Thankfully it isn't up to them.
But, intriguingly, they didn't have to do it in the first place and they've has 21 months since the demise of your hero whom you believe single-handedly made it happen, to take steps to reverse it. I would have thought that if they were willing to sacrifice a limb to see that happen, moves would have been be afoot to set the said reversal in motion before now.
As well as that, the new mob that seem likely to be sworn in in a fortnight's time also show no inlination to do so.
I wonder why that is.
“The words in your previous post. You're sounding like pp.”
Please, tomus. Not like pp 😎
Vulcan has put it more succinctly:
“it seems odd to me that those on this thread who blame the Tories for taking us out of the EU seem to quite happy to accept that labour have no intention to take us back in.”
I’ll just provide a precis of my post:
Hymie began by saying that Mr Johnson is his hero because he took the UK out of the EU and (according to him) by doing so destroyed the Tory Party. Although I could, I’ll not challenge the logic of that. Let’s take it at face value.
He then went on to suggest that the Tory Party “…would now give their right arm if they could turn back-time and reverse the Brexit vote.”
I simply pointed out that the Tories did not have to call a referendum. They did not have to enact Brexit. In fact many of them went to great lengths to avoid doing so. But having done so, they have had 21 months since Mr Johnson (who, apparently was solely responsible for all this trouble) left office, to begin a reversal process. Mr Starmer, who seems certain to form the next government and so will have at least five years to reverse the vote, has shown no intention of doing so either.
So as Vulcan says, if Brexit has been such a disaster why has the party who form a government-in-waiting not pledged to reverse it?
There nothing confusing about that.
