I'm 38 years old but I'm beginning to notice and miss things more.....

What happened to customer care in shops, I mean the little local store, where they packed your shopping with care....now it is self service in large supermarkets.

Christmas shopping not starting until December 1st....now it is Xmas puddings in the stores in September and adverts on the tv in November.

They are just 2 things I've picked up on.

Everything seems to be rushed, no one has time for anyone - is it me ? Am I getting old?

Believe me I am all for technology, I spend enough time on the net! But what do you miss?

Sorry no, I don't fit any of that criteria! Still at 38 , listen to radio 1 & am not a grumpy old bird!
I miss shop staff saying please and thank you when you hand over your hard-won money to them. It's almost as if they are doing you a favour.

I also miss petrol pump attendants. I don't mind filling my own car but it was nice to be served when you pulled up to the pump.

I also miss the milkman. It was always good to see and hear them rattling around first thing in the morning. Glass milk bottles have gone too - now its plastic containers or Tetrapak. It was nice to put out a note "One extra today please Milkie".

Oh God, I'm soooooooo Grumpy too - and I'm only 45!

I've still got small shop that packs your bags

And a milkman

As for shop assistants....I'm too busy being polite to notice

where do you live - can I move there??????
I find that if the shops that treat their staff well this comes acrros in the staff`s attitude towards the customers. I get my groceries packed for me in a large well known supermarket & I`m greeted with courtesy.
I agree re xmas. I can honestly say that I never rush around. Life`s too short to rush about everywhere.
Times have changed though.
You know you are getting old when someone suggests a night out and you immediately wonder what the parking is like!! Or worried that its a work night!! Or don't think its a good idea cos you went out last week!! Right up until my 30's I was out everynight havig a right old riot - now I find I have turned into my mother!!
I'm not grumpy, I just dislike -

Automated telephone answering services and then waiting an hour before you get a customer service assistant, whilst having to listen to some awful music on loop.
