Instead of going out for the traditional Christmas lunch, what could the staff from our office do instead (about 15 of us!) for an afternoon away from our desks!

A whole afternoon? Or just a lunch hour?

I know it's still in the traditional theme....but how about a panto?

Especially after a few vinos I bet they're a scream :-)
all go to a sushi bar instead... always fun watching colleagues faces as they bite into 'something raw and slimy'... : )
depending on where you live perhaps you could find an outdoor skating rink? several in London this year, and my colleagues and I have been a couple of time now.
All sit in the Park contemplating how fortunate you all are, and how lucky you all are to be fully employed, with a roof over your heads. And then collect all the money you saved by not going for a Christmas Lunch, and give the proceeds to the homeless.
Yep and after you've sat in the park- book the next two weeks off work with the pneumonia that you're bound to get!

Ha! I'm already involved with the random acts of kindness movement. Last time I tried convincing everyone to do something - like the sitting in the park idea - it was shunned. Miserable office dwellers! We do give money to a charity in lieu of christmas cards though.
How about going to a theme park or something? Theres a crystal maze place an hour from me which is always a cracking laugh. Or how about Quasar? Thats always a classic to see the boring guy who worries about staples and things all day ,suddenly got all rambo-esque!

Ice skating has got the festive theme but you'll have to ask for expenses for cushions for your chairs after you all fall on your bum so many times. If you're young at heart, go to a local santas grotto and tell santa what you want.
I'm sure you'll think of something fun to do - hope you have a great time
I was going to suggest Quasar but welshfox beat me to it.
You have the perfect number(well-about 16) and depending on the place ,you might be able to hire the whole venue, then down the pub or bar for a well-earned drink . It's great fun for all ages!
Get yourself a programme from your nearest cinema & choose a film, popcorn, the works! :0)
