Has anyone suffered from any politically correct lunacy recently?For example Our prime minister apologising for slavery that happened 200 years ago(he wasn't even born) and still sending our troops to fight and get blown up in wars that are NOT our problem(all we seem to see him do is pout a bit and look guilty .he has got blood on his hands and he knows it). I dispair at the complete lunacy sometimes!!

So from your question, are you the one in this case who is suffering from political correctness (if you are in despair) or are you wearing your heart on your sleeve for the Iraqi�s, our soldiers and the slaves of 200 years ago? I don�t get it.

Perhaps Tony Blair is guilty of hypocrisy? In that case, we have all suffered from that at some point in our lives on a day to day basis.

If the general paradigm of political correctness is causing suffering, then isn�t that a paradox?

The troops in iraq aren't slaves since they chose to join the army and are getting paid. But anyway, steering this thread away from the war. A year or so ago I read on the news that you could no longer "fail" a test in school. It was now "deferred success." That made me laugh.

Keeping on the school theme, I did read an article (this morning) about a school which has banned/discouraged the 'putting up of hands' in class so as not to make some pupils feel intimidated.

Can't blame that on the Government though mikey! when it was suggested the Education minister was quoted as saying she gave the idea "0 out of 10!"

No we need to try harder to find something PC that the Government has done!

But semi-seriously have you noticed that for some people if there's a rule protecting the sensibilities of others it's "PC gone mad" but if there's no rule and they're offended it's an affront to decency.

I've a mate that works as a nursery nurse and apparently they have to sing Baa Baa Blue Sheep as the original lyrics are no longer appropriate! I mean really a Blue Sheep!?!

This last one is actually an exercise in using adjectives. I used to use it in the days I taught English to foreign students. You just take a corny sentence and replace a particular word (in this case "black") by as many different ones as you can. It's nothing to do with political correctness.

My Sister-in-law works in a nursery and if a child thumps another you have to say "how sad you want to hurt them" or words to that effect. Instead of "you are a naughty boy and it's wrong to hit people

because the child is not naughty its the act that he did which is naughty so no label on the child
