Is it a Code?

I have noticed in the countryside in Ripley and also along a local country road where I live, flour has been poured on pavement as if it is a code or a sign for someone. What does this mean??

Could be a paper chase trail - all sorts of stuff is used, and it has to be environmentally friendly, like flour, salt, sawdust, etc. Paper is out, since it's litter nowadays.
Either that, or somebody is going to be disappointed when they get home and try to make a start on their home baking!
