Hello sleepy, hope you are well.

I now live in North Wales our headline in the local rag this week was something like,

Kiera Knightly Filming In Valley

Apparantly they are making a film about Dylan Thomas, and were filming about 4 miles from my house.
Hi nutgone, There is one about 3 miles from me are you tent or van
they film "doctors" near my house, sometimes the local high street is blocked off, I have been on the shot once walking into the post office!!!
Tent! We're hard, we are!
nutgone try this its at the very edge on the pennines on the saddleworth moor I can see it from my house.

Croydon Times: "Tenders invited for an environmentally friendly death facility to be built in Execution Plaza. Initially it will be a single discreet guillotine, but once the shoppers in Waterstones get used the the chopping thuds, we propose to move on to multiple apparatus"

That was just last Thursday, and I still have some bedding plants to buy.
Thanks a million Puss - I'm going to have a look now!
Down here in Plymouth the headline is "NO TO BIN TAX Tory council leader has ruled out introducing 'pay as you throw' rubbish charges" we are obsessed with the stuff yet visitors always complain about what a messy place it is....it is 50/50 natives / tourists probably. We got our first shopping mall last year so I suppose we are getting a bit more 'cosmopolitan'!!!
very parochial ours, 'jack , five, saves grandad from coma' a little lad fed his grandad sugar lumps after the old boy went into a diabetic swoon type thing, they were in the park feeding the ducks i think. i live near sunny Wigan. we always have access to a supply of sugar lumps up here, you just never know.
Haven't seen this week's local paper but last week's was "Broad Oak Farmer Injured in Farm Fire."

I live in a lovely rural village on the Herfordshire/Essex border. House prices are very high here too but we also bought our house just before the property market sky-rocketed. We probably wouldn't be able to afford property here if we were buying now.

Our cottage backs on to hundreds of acres of stunning farmland and the sunsets over the field in front of the house are a sight to behold. We are surrounded by listed buildings, some of which date back to the 1400s and are of special historical interest. The village was apparently mentioned in the Domesday Book. I love it here and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
not even Wigan Aprilis?
we get free gas mantles here now you know, whether we need them or not.
My local tattler reads

"Ex-Army Captain Caught Spanking 6th Form Schoolgirls"
It doesn't really. It says

"New Council Leader Spells Out His Party's Priorities"

Mmmmmmm what a rivetting read.
No, deffo not even Wigan Dotty. Talking of gas mantles, this village is so old and quaint it only got a gas supply about 10 years ago!
wow Aprilis great news, what next? colour TV is my guess. : ))
Oh we do get colour TV now Dot but we don't get a decent digital signal and broadband only came to us a year or so ago after the whole village petitioned for it.
Joking of course about the TV but dead serious about the digital channels and broadband.
my local paper headline reads " 10 years for taking a life "
